Flashback Friday

Well...it isn't a picture of me from my first years of school, but I did find in all my stuff on the front porch, my favorite bunny from a long time ago. The bunny is very worn...many rips and tears on its tummy and arms. The poor rabbit has been in the tree house...on the swings...to my friend's house...many times a bedtime pal...and currently was also in tote #56 for about 2 to 6 years. I am sure he is a kindred spirit with the Velveteen rabbit.

The Latest Craze -Wellies

The latest craze...is definitely the Wellington Boot. I would actually like a pair myself for gardening this year. If there is one thing I do not care for is wet, muddy feet. This boot solves all problems. Now, this morning while I was looking at other garden blogs, I noticed that along with the Wellis, you can get a fun rain type of coat with fun designs...If I find it, that might be an ideal purchase.

Christmas Crochet Gift # 7

Yes...look at this groovy little hat. I love how it sits on her hair without mussing it. If you want one of these for Christmas, you will have to let me know ASAP. I have several requests already for the Crocheted I-Pod Cozy. I can hardly keep up with all the orders. :)

New York State "Summer Attire????"

As many of you know, when the weather turns the slightest here in NY, people get this odd idea that it is appropriate to drag out their summer duds. My suggestion...keep them put away or buy some clothes that fit.
Tonight, as my family and I were perusing the normal stops on a Friday evening, it was brought to my attention that many of the latest fashions for ladies are really fashion NO-NO's. I do not like halter tops. I do not like stretch pants that are not just right. I do like those tiered skirts. I really do not like short shorts and the list goes on....I guess I have to face it -I am a traditional old-fashioned, I like people dressed modestly kinda girl.
Thank goodness next week's weather is colder than this week.

A Passport Necklace?

My fun new passport cover has arrived from none other than my mom. Isn't is fun? It not only holds my passport, but any thing else that I will need as I go through all the gates and customs. Moldova...here I come!

The Moldovan Art Market

While in Moldova, I hope to go to many different markets...one of which is the art market. Several Moldovans have their wares on display to sell. They have many things from carved wooden objects to lace to belts and purses. While I am there, I hope to purchase some Christmas gifts for the family.

Traditional Moldovan Dolls

Two years ago, my friend brought me a few things...which I like to think as treasures...for Christmas. This was one of those things. Unlike the stacking dolls (which I plan to purchase this summer), it hangs on the wall and can hold an assortment off things.
I love the details of the bright painting, especially the eyes and the flowers.

Open Gates

This picture was taken in Moldova a few years ago by my friend, Tanya.
I love the composition of this photo - a strong post in the midst of crumbling gate.
It reminds me of the passage in John. "Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (8:12)

Two Months Until Leaving

Two months from today I will be taking off for Romania and Moldova...so exciting. I am not packed (G-ma E would have been if she was going there.).
I don't have any idea of what I will be bringing...but my mind and camera are ready to take in everything and then bring it back home to share with my family and friends.
Top 5 things that I would like to experience while I am there:
1. A smooth flight to Romania.
2. When I pick up my luggage...having it be there.
3. Being able to communicate with the people there.
4. The cuisine.
5. Taking pictures of everything.
Please pray for me as I prepare to leave in the next 2 months. It will definitely be an adventure.

New Fabrics

Ahh Yes! Some new fabrics to be made into skirts for my upcoming trip to Europe this summer. Are they not so cool and very colorful? So fun, but yet so versatile.

Desserts?

STRESSED written backwards spells DESSERTS.
A coincidence?
I think not.
